About Red Dog
Red Dog is also known as Acey-Deucey or
in-between. It is played with a single deck of 52 cards. Cards are ranked as in Poker, ace is the highest card, and the suits are ignored.
How to Play Red Dog
The players place their bets. Two cards are then dealt to the player.
If the two cards are consecutive then the hand is a push. If it's a pair then the dealer draws a third card.
If the third card makes a three of a kind (3 cards of the same rank) it pays 11:1 otherwise it is a push.
If the two card aren't consecutive or equal , the dealer calls a spread. The spread represents the amount of numbers that fall between the player's two cards, ( Example: if the players two cards are a six and a nine, then it is a 2-card spread, as only 7and 8 fall between those two cards). A third card needs to be dealt and the player has to predict weather the third card will rank between the first two cards. The player can either double their initial bet, raise up to the initial bet or stand. When the third card is drawn and the player has predicted correctly they are paid out as follows:
| Spread |
Pay Out |
| 1 |
5:1 |
| 2 |
4:1 |
| 3 |
2:1 |
| 4 or more |
1:1 |
If the player's third card matches one of the first two cards or does not fall in between them numerically, that player loses and the bet is collected by the dealer.
The tighter the spread between the first two cards the higher the payout if the third card ranks between the first two cards.
